2008/2009 Accomplishments

For year 2008-09, our students enjoyed a great year of learning, experiences, and spiritual growth, while continuing to benefit from:
    An academically rigorous education,
    With a biblical worldview,
    Within the Christian community,
    While culturally engaging our community.

2008 / 2009 STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

    The Class of 2009 accomplished the following:
 
    An AVERAGE ACT test score of 25 with two students scoring 30 or above.
    College scholarships totaling $400,000 …$18,000 per student!!

    In academic and extra-curricular activities, Veritas students achieved & participated in the following:
    The MPSA State Science Fair – Won Best of Fair with eight more State Winners.
    The Miss. Engineering Society High School Model Bridge contest – Won 3rd place.
    The Mississippi Stock Market Game Contest – Won 2009 State Over-all Team competition and Won Fall 2008 &         Spring 2009 Semester Team competitions.
    The Hinds County Soil and Conservation Poster Competition - Won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place District.
    Medusa Mythology Exam - Won Gold and Silver medals and Honorable Mention nationally.
    National Latin Exam – Won Silver medal and Honorable Mention nationally.
    MPSA Spelling Bee Hinds County – Won 3rd Place District.
    Geography Bee Participants.
    Math Competition School Winners.
    Youth Legislature.
    Veritas Strings Orchestra.
    Church mission work as close as the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Tennessee, and as far away as Washington State,             Mexico and Peru. 

    In our sports programs, The Veritas School:
    Finished in 3rd place in Boys MPSA State Track Meet.      
    Finished in 2nd place in Girls MPSA State Track Meet.
    2008 District Champion and South State Runner-up in fast pitch softball.
    Had twelve MPSA All Star Players in four sports.
