The Veritas School exists to equip a new generation of Christian leaders to think and live biblically.
Core Values
Church, Home, School
The Veritas School sees itself as an extension of the home as well as a support agency for local churches. A Veritas education is an education that recognizes our children as image-bearers of Christ, and assists the individual in realizing their God-given potential. The school, then, becomes an aid and support to the local church and parents raising their children in the “nuture and admonition of the Lord.” (Genesis 1:26-27; Deut. 6; Eph. 6:4)
Cultural Mandate
In the beginning, the Lord God entrusted to humanity the cultural enterprise of bringing all things in subjection to Him for His glory. This involves the whole person in all of life. We must love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength as we seek to bring every thought captive to the Lord Jesus Christ. This mandate involves all of Creation – there is nothing that exists apart from the claims of our Risen King. Thus it is our privilege to train, disciple and nurture our students toward this end; so that in everything Christ has pre-eminence as the individual seeks to understand his or her role in God’s kingdom both now and forever. (Genesis 1:28; Psalm 24:1; Deut. 6:5, 2 Corn 10:5; Col 1:16-18)
Biblical Worldview
Modern secular education has a man-centered view of the world and teaches every subject from this perspective. Christian education at The Veritas School is God-centered and teaches every subject from that point of view. God is creator and sustainer of all things, the One who gives beauty and order to life. He is in sovereign control of all events, directing history toward the final Day of Judgment and redemption. (Psalm 19:1; John 1:1-5)
Kingdom Living
Our purpose is not to prepare students to “get a job” or “to succeed in a career”, but to glorify God; to help them hear Christ’s calling. Like the first disciples of Jesus, we want our students to see all of life as a calling from the Lord, a vocation in the highest sense. Thus, their marriages, jobs, hobbies and friendships are all a part of their mission, which is to advance His kingdom. (Matt 28:19; Romans 12:1-2)
